Q. What does it cost to service a machine and what do you do to it?
A. If the machine is running and just needs tuned up for the season, it generally runs $65-$80 with parts and labor, depending on whether we need to replace parts or if we can just clean the old ones. Please see the "Service" page for more details on what's done to the machine. If the machine is not running or starts and dies, then you may need a carburetor rebuild which runs $100-$120 with parts and labor.
Q. Do you sharpen chain saws and mower blades?
A. We sharpen chain and mower blades every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning. So if you drop it off Tuesday night you can get it back Wednesday before noon. The cost is $15.00 if you bring it in off the machine and $17.00 if it's on the machine.
Q. What is the oil-to-gas ratio for my two cycle machine?
A. Most two cycle machines run on a 50:1 mix which is 2.6 oz of oil to a gallon of gas
Q. What kind of oil does my lawnmower take?
A. Mowers that do not mix gas and oil use straight 30 weight oil of any brand.
Q. What kind of oil does my snow blower take?
A. Snow blowers that do not mix gas and oil use 5W30 weight oil of any brand.
Q.How much is a new mower blade?
A. A single mower blade is approximately $18.00. It's best to bring in your old blade so we can match it.
Q. How much is a new bar and chain on my chain saw?
A. New bars run from $35.00-$65.00 and chains run from $18.00-$35.00 depending on it's size and kind. We carry chain for all saws and have any length in stock.
Q. Do you carry electric mowers?
A. Yes, we carry the Neuton Brand electric mowers which run $400-$500.
Q. Do you pick up for repairs?
A. We will pick up your machine, service it and return it to your door. We charge $45-$65 depending on your zip code.
Q. Do I need to make an appointment for repairs?
A. We do not take appointments, we repair machines in the order they come in. We have three full-time mechanics working to get machines done as quickly as possible. Obviously in the busy season, your wait time will be longer. Please see the "Service" page for rush work options.
